![]() I’m just looking for a good quality sounding earphone that gives the same magic that the Starfield does without the effect of sounding “shouty” at times and maybe a bit more fun to listen to. as i’m not too familiar with all of those and don’t want to start rambling about something I really don’t know much of. I’m just wondering are there any IEM’s under $350 that would give me the same feeling the Starfields do but presented in a more let’s say “elegant” way? I apologize on not mentioning things such as what soundstage i’m looking for or the audio details such as the treble, highs, lows, etc. Also they can be particularly flat and thin sounding at times in my opinion. Currently eyeing at the TIN line (T2 normal/plus and T3 Plus) and Tanchjim OLA since theyre attainable, budget-wise. While I do love them, I feel they aren’t the best for some of the genres I listen to as they tend to sound “shouty” in a lot of the rock music in my library, I listen to a lot of The Weeknd and his voice is almost unbearable in these sometimes at higher volumes because he comes across almost too clean and it’s kind of like he is grating my ear drum, which is extremely unfortunate because he’s my favorite artist. Am now experiencing imbalances w/ my Chus and Im tryna research my next sub 100usd IEM. IMAGIN too is a hint sharper with Diamond. SOUNDSTAGE is very similar with both but slightly wider with the Diamond. The STARFIELD offers thicker, fuller and more natural timbre while the DIAMOND is more transparent and airy. One thing I personally do not like about the Starfields is they are a little ear piercing at higher volumes, at lower volumes I don’t hear the same level of detail in the music so I almost always turn the volume up and just get over the feeling which is something I don’t particularly like doing. This two iem are rather similar in sound signature but less so in tonal balance and timbre. music has never sounded so clean and precise so now IEM’s have piqued my interest very hard! Like many affordable IEMs to come from China, the build quality of the housing is of pretty good quality, and it makes the Starfield look and feel more premium. Starfield is equipped with a 24AWG litz structure 4N purity OFC earphone cable, which ensures rich sound details and full dynamics. It seems like every other week, I get a great new IEM in the mail. Sufficed to say, I am a bit overwhelmed by it all. The 2019-2020 portable season has been absolutely beyond absurd in great deals and interesting tech releases. I love the Starfields, got them almost a year ago and have basically went crazy googling, watching YouTube videos, reading reviews, comparisons of all kinds of IEM’s etc. A few weeks ago, Moondrop lobbed their Starfield IEM at me for review. Hello all, i’m new into the whole “audiophile” world and this is one question I’ve been dying to get a great answer to. ![]()
